KENOSHA, Wis. — Parkside women's soccer opened GLIAC play in dominating fashion, taking down Roosevelt 5-0 on Friday afternoon. The Rangers outshot the Lakers 30-3, put 17 shots on goal, and scored four times in the second half. It was Parkside's second consecutive clean sheet. Additionally, they recorded a season-high of five goals.
Parkside controlled the first half statistically, outshooting the Lakers 17-1 and earning all five corner kicks. The first goal of the match would prove to be the game-winner, as Kate Brown played a ball from the left wing into the area that was tapped home by Rilyn Breinholt in the sixth minute. Roosevelt goalkeeper Kaylee Sarnicola made 10 saves to keep Parkside's halftime lead at 1-0.
The Rangers then struck early in the second for their first of four second-half goals. The second goal of the match was a little déjà vu from the first, as Brown, again working from the left side, played a great ball across for Breinholt to tap into the back of the net again. This marked Breinholt's first game-winning goal of the season. She scored twice on five shots, put three attempts on goal, and registered a season-high total of five shots.

Parkside's third was scored off of a rebound, as Emily Slye fired a shot just inside the left edge of the 18, and although her shot was saved, Schmidt cleaned up the rebound and scored top shelf to make it 3-0.
The fourth goal of the match came off a beautiful assist from Lindsay Dahlinger, who threaded her pass from the right flank into the box for freshman McRae to put into the top right corner, marking her first collegiate goal.
The fifth and final goal was the icing on the cake. Kaitlyn Shortridge chipped a ball through the defense, leading Kasianowicz ahead of everyone, who placed her shot over the keeper and into the top part of the net for her first goal of the season.
In the second half, Parkside outshot the Lakers 13-2, including a 6-1 edge in shots on goal, and held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks. Breinholt, Kayden Schmidt, Julia McRae, and Madi Kasianowicz each scored after halftime as Parkside finished off a 5-0 win.
Brown tallied two assists and added one shot. Ava Rizzitano led Parkside with six shots, including three on goal. Lindsey Ferrara played all 90 minutes in goal, made one save, and finished with a shutout, her first shutout win of her young career.
Parkside is now 3-1-1 overall and opens 1-0-0 in GLIAC play. Roosevelt is 0-3-2 overall and still searching for its first win of 2026.
