KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's soccer program is off to its second 4-1-1 start since 2014 and its first 2-0-0 start to GLIAC play in program history, following a convincing 5-0 win over Roosevelt and a 1-0 win over Purdue Northwest last week. The Rangers are in the middle of a six-match homestand, their longest of the season. Parkside has two more GLIAC opponents on the docket, with Michigan Tech coming to town on Friday afternoon before Northern Michigan makes the southern trek on Sunday.
The Rangers enter the week 4-1-1 and are off to one of their most explosive starts offensively in recent memory. Parkside has scored 15 goals so far this season, which ranks second in the GLIAC and 22nd in all of Division II. Offensively, Parkside leads the GLIAC in assists and is second in points and scoring offense.
Kate Brown paces a balanced offensive attack for the Rangers with eight points this season. Brown has two goals and four assists. Her four assists are good for 10th nationally and second in the GLIAC. Seven different Rangers have scored this season. Rilyn Breinholt and Kayden Schmidt are coming off multi-goal weeks, with Breinholt scoring two in the win over Roosevelt. Schmidt scored one against Roosevelt and delivered the deciding goal in the win over PNW with a PK goal in the first half.

The Parkside back line and goalkeeping has posted three straight clean sheets. Ferrara's three shutouts rank 15th nationally and first in the GLIAC. It is the first time that Parkside has posted three straight shutouts since the 2014 team recorded five straight between Oct. 24 and Nov. 7 of that season.
Parkside holds a 7-8-1 all-time record against Michigan Tech and has won three of the last four matchups. The Rangers went 1-0-1 against the Huskies last season with a 1-1 draw in Kenosha. Tech has not won in Kenosha since 2023.
The Rangers are 6-9-3 all-time against Northern Michigan. The two sides split the season series last year. Parkside won 2-1 in Kenosha, but NMU was able to take the match in Marquette 1-0.
Scouting Michigan Tech
The Huskies enter the week 0-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in GLIAC play. Scoring has been a struggle for MTU in the early goings this season, as they have just one goal, which came back in their third match of the season against Northwood. Under second-year head coach Melissa Kuhar, the Huskies have two former All-GLIAC players on the roster in Allison Millina, who was an honorable mention in 2025, and Olivia Gette, who was a 2024 honorable mention.
Michigan Tech was picked 10th out of 10 teams in the GLIAC preseason coaches poll.
Scouting Northern Michigan
The Wildcats enter the week 3-2-1 overall and 0-2-0 in GLIAC play. They have lost two straight after taking losses to No. 5 Grand Valley State 3-0 and Saginaw Valley State 2-0 at home last weekend. NMU was picked fifth in the GLIAC, one spot behind Parkside.
Northern Michigan has an experienced roster in 2026, returning 20 from the 2025 roster. Senior Isabella Lorens leads the Wildcats with seven points this season (two goals, three assists). Six other Wildcats have netted goals, while 10 total players have points this season. Northern ranks eighth of the 10 teams in the league in scoring this season, while the Rangers rank second.
Carly Sides has played every minute possible in net for the Wildcats. The redshirt sophomore has allowed nine goals in 540 minutes of action, making 25 saves.
The Rangers will conclude their six-match homestand with a one-match week next week. Parkside will take on No. 6 Grand Valley State on Sunday, Sept. 27, with an 11 a.m. kickoff. The 27th will also be alumni day for the Rangers.
