Fifth Graders Enjoy Racine Symphony

Pasquale Laurino, conductor and artistic director for the Racine Symphony Orchestra, talks to an audience of Racine-area fifth-grade students who came to Grace Church, 3626 Hwy 31, Tuesday to attend the orchestra's annual concert for fifth graders. The orchestra entertained about 1,800 students between two morning shows. The theme of the show was "Compose Yourself," where students were allowed to choose a melody, harmony and rhythm to guide the performance of the last song in Tuesday's program. The Racine Symphony Orchestra has been performing this type of youth concert for the last 53 years.
