Hannah Compernolle scored two goals and led the Prairie High School girls soccer team to a 6-0 victory over Kenosha St. Joseph in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal Thursday at SCORe in Caledonia.
The No. 2 seed Hawks will play No. 7 Whitefish Bay Dominican at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carthage College in a regional final.
Compernolle, a freshman forward, scored her first goal in the 16th minute off an assist by freshman Rachel Gentile. She also in the 33rd minute (Kylie Kamm assist).
Gentile got the Hawks (14-7-1) started with a goal in the ninth minute (Annabel Ware assist). Jordynn Gottwald (Megan Wolf) scored in the 12th minute. Freshmen Geneva Swager and Sara Wagers scored the Hawks’ fifth and sixth goals, unassisted, in the 51st and 68th minutes, respectively. Prairie goalkeeper Becky Kann needed to make no saves to earn the shutout.

“We give credit to our defense today,” Prairie coach Corey Oakland said. “Anytime our goalkeeper can go without touching the ball, something must be going right. But we kept them on their heels with our offense and played simple and effective defense today.”
