The Prairie School girls soccer team had its chances against Division 1 Nicolet Friday night, but couldn’t convert in a 2-1 nonconference loss at Glendale.

Nicolet scored twice in the first half. The Hawks (13-7-1) had several sterling scoring chances, but couldn’t find the back of the net when they needed to, said coach Corey Oakland. “We had two breakaways and had a ball hit the crossbar,” he said. “We were able to create some very dangerous chances against a very good team.”

Prairie avoided the shutout in the 77th minute when freshman Hannah Compernolle scored off an assist from Megan Wolf.
