Prairie School senior Zane Navratil matched the best-ever showing by any Racine County tennis entry last week by rolling through the Division 2 singles field at the WIAA State Individual Boys Tennis Tournament in Madison.

Navratil won his third straight title with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over freshman Kai Sane of University School of Milwaukee in the Division 2 singles championship match.

Along the way, he had the unenviable task of playing his own teammate, freshman Juan Perez, in the semifinals. Navratil won 6-3, 6-4 to reach the final. Navratil won his first two matches of the tournament in straight sets. In his three championship seasons, Navratil did not lose a set.
