Waunakee senior Tyler Mais is scheduled to sign as a preferred walk-on with the University of Wisconsin football team at 8 a.m. Monday at the Waunakee High School office, Warriors activities director Aaron May said.
Mais was a first-team all-state selection at defensive back by The Associated Press. The 6-foot-3, 198-pound Mais was a repeat Wisconsin Football Coaches Association first-team all-state selection. He was co-defensive player of the year in the Badger North Conference. He was a unanimous all-conference first-team choice at both defensive back and wide receiver for Waunakee, which won the Badger North.
Lodi’s Jacob Michel orally commits for college golf; others decide
Lodi senior Jacob Michel, who placed second at the WIAA Division 2 individual boys golf championship, announced via social media that he has orally committed to the University of South Dakota.

River Valley’s Taylor Briehl reaches milestone
Taylor Briehl became the fourth girl in River Valley girls basketball history to score more than 1,000 points.
She surpassed 1,000 points when River Valley defeated host Prairie du Chien Feb. 17. Taylor was presented the game ball from that game at halftime of the River Valley boys basketball game on Monday.
