Amanda Johnson had a strategy and she followed it.
The Park High School senior overtook Hollie Poehler of Oak Creek in the final 400 meters to win the girls race in the Muskego Warrior Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Lake Denoon Middle School.

“Amanda was leading the first mile and a half and then the Oak Creek girl overtook her,” said Park coach Glenn Schultz, who had an incomplete team. “But Amanda sat back and then she ran a great last 400 meters. It was really a gutty performance.”
