The University of Wisconsin football team’s 10th verbal commitment of the summer may fill one of its most vital needs in the 2017-18 recruiting cycle.
Defensive tackle Bryson Williams announced his intentions to join the Badgers on Wednesday via Twitter. With no clear successor in line to eventually replace junior Olive Sagapolu at nose tackle, the addition of Williams could be an important one for UW in the coming years.
The Lincoln, Nebraska, native rates as a three-star prospect by Rivals and 247sports and is unranked by Scout and ESPN, but his offer list included Iowa, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Iowa State and Duke.
Those were Williams’ top five schools when he released the list on June 16. The Badgers offered four days later, though, and a visit to Madison was impressive enough for Williams to pivot and pick UW.
With seven months still to pass before National Signing Day in February, Williams became the 17th known commitment in the Badgers’ 2018 recruiting class.
