MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Kevin Smith hit a three-run triple in the third inning, leading the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 7-2 win over the Altoona Curve on Thursday. The Fisher Cats swept the three-game series with the win.

The triple by Smith scored Forrest Wall, Santiago Espinal, and Alberto Mineo to give the Fisher Cats a 3-0 lead.

Altoona answered in the top of the next frame when Jerrick Suiter hit an RBI single, driving in Bligh Madris to get within two.

The Fisher Cats later added two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, Mineo hit a two-run home run, while Vinny Capra hit a two-run double in the sixth.

New Hampshire right-hander Patrick Murphy (3-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Scooter Hightower (2-5) took the loss in the Eastern League game after allowing five runs and seven hits over five innings.
