What has become a holiday tradition, the annual Christmas Gift wrapping fundraiser on behalf of the Volunteer Center of Racine County set a record for activity and donations. Over 2,100 gifts were wrapped thanks to more than 300 volunteers of all ages.

Special thanks to this year’s sponsor, Landmark Credit Union, the wonderful staff of the Regency Mall, the individuals and companies who donated boxes, especially Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Thank you to the volunteers from area companies and organizations who took shifts to support the project.

And to the many volunteers both young and older, you know who you are.

Without community support both financial and service, we could not function and connect with the 6,000 registered volunteers who serve over 300 nonprofits in Racine County.

The annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon is Friday, April 20. Nomination forms are now available at the Volunteer Center located at 6216 Washington Ave., Suite G, or online at

Support volunteerism in Racine by nominating an outstanding individual to be recognized during National Volunteer Week.

Keep on giving, Racine.
