Recently, my siblings and I sold our family’s 47-acre County Line Road property to the Village of Mount Pleasant as it makes way for the Foxconn development. When we were first approached, we were hopeful, and maybe a little skeptical, of the potential for the village to purchase our property for a major development like Foxconn’s manufacturing campus.
But that potential became a reality as we closed on the sale earlier this year. The village took care of us every step along the way. They were considerate, helpful and did everything they could to ensure we understood the process and paperwork. They even brought in a team to clean out everything we didn’t want to take with us, something that seemed like such a daunting task to us.
I know everyone’s situation and circumstances are unique, but for us, selling our family property to the village for the Foxconn development was a great opportunity that we were happy to seize. We had an excellent experience and have nothing but good things to say about the entire process.
As a lifelong Village of Mount Pleasant resident, I look forward to seeing the Foxconn development take shape. I am confident we will be feeling the positive ripple effects for generations to come.
