The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Tourism held a public hearing on the appointment of the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Secretary-designee Randy Romanski. Romanski fielded questions from committee members on food distribution, tenant's rights and hemp. As reported by, Evers initially made Romanski the interim secretary after the GOP-controlled state Senate rejected the nomination of Brad Pfaff in November 2019. Evers then nominated Romanski to become secretary in June 2020.
