WHEATLAND — The man who died in an early-morning fire that broke out Friday in a Kenosha County mobile home park has been identified.

Stanley J. Mesmer, 71, of Wheatland, was named as the victim of a mobile home fire at Wheatland Estates, 32200 45th St., which is located about a mile south of the Racine County line.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and multiple county fire departments responded at 5:02 a.m. Friday to the park.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department, Mesmer was found by fire crews in the mobile home as the fire was being extinguished.

On Tuesday, fire officials said the fire did not appear to be suspicious. Its origin is still being investigated.

Fire crews from Wheatland, Randall, Twin Lakes, Salem Lakes, Bristol and Pleasant Prairie Fire assisted in extinguishing the fire.
