The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department and the Downtown Racine Corporation will present Monument Mash from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Monument Square, Main and Sixth streets.

This free family Halloween event will feature music, a haunted bounce house, face painting and low-intensity children’s games from 2 to 3 p.m. Seasonal cookies, treats and apple juice will be available from 3 to 3:30 p.m. The event concludes with a pumpkin and costume contest from 3:30 to 4 p.m.

Families that would like to enter a decorated or carved pumpkin in the contest will be able to display their pumpkin on display “bales” beginning at 3:00 p.m. The costume judging contest will be divided into three categories — elementary school, middle school and open divisions.

Prizes will be awarded for the top entries of the pumpkin and costume judging contest.

The prizes include gift certificates from the Downtown Racine Corporation, which are redeemable at a wide variety of downtown shops and restaurants.
