CALEDONIA — A screening of the film, "Reinventing Power: America’s Renewable Energy Boom," is scheduled to be shown at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at River Bend Nature Center, 3600 N. Green Bay Road.

It is being hosted by several local groups including the Southeast Gateway Sierra Club, The Clean Power Coalition of Southeast Wisconsin and the Southeast Wisconsin Solar Group Buy.

The film takes viewers across the country to hear directly from the people working to make a clean energy future possible. The film's premise is that the country doesn't have to sacrifice jobs for a clean environment.

Over the film’s 50 minutes, viewers will meet people in eight states who say their lives were changed by the renewable energy industry while it explores various aspects of the clean energy industry from innovation to installation.

Following the film, State Rep. Greta Neubauer, D-Racine, and Elizabeth Hittman, environmental sustainability program coordinator for the City of Milwaukee and board member of the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, will lead a discussion on the state of renewable energy in southeastern Wisconsin and what can be done to promote the transition to clean energy in this area.
