SOMERS — Lakeshore Youth Philharmonic Orchestras are hosting fall 2017-18 auditions and bring-a-friend night for young musicians in grades five through 12.
Fifteen minute auditions are held between 6:30 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept.12, in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities D164, at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 900 Wood Road.
Bring-a-Friend Nights are held during normal rehearsals on Sept. 19, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. Ensembles rehearse Tuesday evenings in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities. The Sinfonia rehearses from 6:30-8 p.m. in D-184, and Philharmonic rehearses from 7-9:15 p.m. in D-164.
The focus of Lakeshore Youth Philharmonic is to foster the love of students playing their instrument. Lakeshore Youth Philharmonic offers young musicians the setting to train in a quality orchestral environment that will enhance their musical education, while promoting artistic and personal growth. Additional opportunities for members of Lakeshore Youth Philharmonic include workshops, “side by side” community performance opportunities with professional musicians and more.
