RACINE — A 17-year-old teenager was charged with a felony after allegedly pulling a gun on another man and stealing the keys to the man’s car early Saturday morning.
Jmontae Bogan of Racine was charged with armed robbery Monday.
The criminal complaint states that the victim had stopped at the Pump and Pantry, 1826 Douglas Ave., gas station just before it closed on Saturday. When he pulled in, the man reportedly saw Bogan with three other acquaintances pull into the gas station in a Jeep.

After walking out of the gas station, Bogan and two of the men allegedly approached the victim, asking him “what’s up with the money?” The victim said he didn’t owe them any money, but the men continued to ask him how much money he had, according to the criminal complaint.
After reportedly telling the men to leave him alone, the victim got back into his vehicle but was unable to leave the gas station because he was blocked in by other vehicles. While the victim was in his car, Bogan allegedly opened his car door, got inside and pulled out a gun which he pointed at the victim.
Not believing Bogan would shoot him, the victim got out of the vehicle and made his way to the gas station building where he tried to phone police but could not because his phone was dead, the complaint states. As the victim returned to his car to leave, he realized his keys were missing.
The victim spoke with the men on Facebook; they told him his keys were in street in the 1100 block of South Memorial Drive, the complaint states. Police were able to find the keys in that area and return them to the victim.
Bogan was being held in the Racine County Jail Monday night according to online records.
