RACINE - The Racine Interfaith Coalition (RIC) will hold its annual public meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Ave. In the course of the event, music will be provided by singers Frank and Yolanda James of Changing Lives Ministries and The Amen's, the Christ Church men's choir.
RIC leaders will offer reflections on the role of the faith community in the public arena. In addition to words of inspiration and commitment, the multi-racial, multi-ethnic organization will address success in RIC's work with at-risk youth; a welcome to new congregations and new individuals in an expanding RIC; challenges to maintain and expand public transportation options; testimonials related to the need for a residential drug treatment center for women with children; and a presentation by Karen Royster of the Institute for Wisconsin's Future regarding the impact of federal funding on the Racine community.
