RACINE — “Birds, Boats and Beaches,” an invitational exhibit of Racine Art Guild members, will be on display Sept. 6-Oct. 9 at the Racine Arts Council ArtSpace Gallery, 316 Sixth St. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, during First Fridays in Downtown Racine.
The Racine Art Guild has been a part of the art scene in Racine since 1956 and this is the first “themed” exhibition ever held. Its mission is to promote creative art for the mutual benefit of the members and to advance the appreciation of art in Racine.
The show is being dedicated to the late Brad Harring, a Racine Art Guild member and owner of Avenue Gallery and Frame. He hosted this show at his business for many years.
The Racine Arts Council is open from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. There is no admission fee.
