RACINE — Ed Lazzeroni will be the featured artist through June 29 at Photographic Design Gallery & Framing, 411 Sixth St.
A Wisconsin native, Lazzeroni was interested in art at an early age. He attended Layton School of the Arts and, upon graduation, taught art at Layton. He worked in industrial design at J. I. Case Co. until he and a partner started Prism, an industrial design firm in Racine. Upon retirement in 1998, Lazzeroni returned to his first love of creating wall art, sculpture and utilitarian art from metal.
From the way light is reflected to the variety of effects that can be created through torching, etching and painting, his pieces take on an interactive quality. Metal becomes a canvas for his artistic expression. Lazzeroni’s bold and colorful images range from impressive orange skies to fall leaves and trees in the woods. His creative technique results in detailed depictions of natural landscapes, waterscapes and floral studies.
Summer gallery hours are noon to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and daily by appointment. Call 262-633-9899.
