BURLINGTON — The annual Fly-In/Drive-In featuring local classic aircraft will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Burlington Airport, 403 Airport Drive. There is no fee for admission or parking.

The event will include approximately 100 local classic airplanes from southern Wisconsin and classic cars in the parking area. The Burlington Fire Department will have equipment on display and there will be a model train set-up from Woodcrafters.

Gypsy Air Tours will offer bi-plane rides and scenic tours and Josh “Schooner-rigged” Brownell will be offering rides in a yellow 1930 Waco Taperwing.

B*Jazzled!, the local high school vocal ensemble, will sell breakfast in the west hangar building. Proceeds will fund the ensemble’s efforts. Lunch will be cooked and served by Burlington firefighters.

Airplane rides will continue until sunset.

This volunteer-run event began more than 15 years ago to offer the community a chance to visit the airport.
