EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES — WHEN CARING FOR SOMEONE WITH DEMENTIA: Communication is so much more than talking and listening. It also includes sending and receiving messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions and body language. As people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias progress in their journey, their ability to use words is lost. This presentation gives families information about decoding verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia.
