RACINE — Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce (RAMAC) and Leadership Racine have announced Christopher Ruud at the recipient of the 2016 Community Trustee Award.
When granting this award, Leadership Racine looks for an individual who cares about the quality of life in the community, is a steward of the community and its resources, honors the community’s history and contributes to its future and leads with passion and authority.
On the business side of Ruud’s leadership path, he worked with Ruud Lighting, now Cree Lighting, in their Global Sales Department. Ruud is now the CEO of Delta Hawk Engine, a Racine based aviation engine company that has developed a diesel engine that will significantly impact the aviation industry.
While serving as chair of the United Way of Racine County campaign, Ruud had the opportunity to meet and get to know a number of businesses and business people.
Leadership networking is vital to Ruud. By this, he means networking with other leaders who are engaged and active in the community.
When asked about leadership, Ruud notes that critical thinking skills are important so that one addresses the root cause of a problem, not just creating a band aid response.
Ruud will be honored at the Class of 2016 Leadership Racine graduation dinner Tuesday, May 10, at Infusino’s Banquet Hall.
Recruitment for next year’s Leadership Racine class is underway. Applications are available by going to www.racinechamber.com or call RAMAC at 262-634-1931.
