The Mother’s Day worship service at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, May 13, at North Pointe United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St., will include a baby quilt dedication.

The quilts were made by the North Pointe Quilters Group and will be dedicated and given to the students involved the Racine Unified School District’s Student Age Parents Program. New members will also be welcomed into the church family. The Chancel Choir’s anthem will be “Loves Me Like A Rock.” Holy Communion will be celebrated.

The Rev. Sue Leih’s message is based on the scripture reading from Ephesians 1: 15-23. It is also Mission Sunday when a special offering is accepted to support the church’s commitment to the Union Grove Area Food Bank and the agricultural ministry of the Rev. Paul Webster in Zambia, Africa. The Kids In Christ’s Kingdom Choir will sing “Knock, Knock” under the direction of Don Hawes at the 10:15 a.m. service.

A short service at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19, will be followed by a meal and Shavuot study session at Beth Israel Sinai Congregation, 3009 Washington Ave. Topics to be discussed include “is there a G-d?” “If so, why?” “If not, why not?” and “The 10 commandments, are they still relevant today?”

The cost of the meal is $10 for members and $15 for others. This will be a dairy meal as is custom on Shavuot.
