Bishop Hee Soo Jung, bishop of the Wisconsin Annual Conference, will conduct the 9:15 a.m. worship service Sunday, Jan. 14, at North Pointe United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St. The Chancel Choir Anthem under the direction of Tony Roland will sing “Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit.” The Trinity Bell Choir selection, under the direction of the Rev. Martha Jackson Oppeneer, will be “Trumpet Voluntary.”


Human Relations Day, one of seven Advance Specials of the United Methodist Church, will be observed at Yorkville United Methodist Church, 17645 Old Yorkville Road, Union Grove. This special offering is taken on the Sunday before the observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday to further the development of improved race relations. Student pastor Chris Van Beek will preach at the 8 a.m. praise service and the 10:15 a.m. traditional service. Rhythm & Praise will sing “Can’t Carry These Burdens Alone” at the 10:15 a.m. service.


The monthly Interfaith Devotional gathering for people of all faiths will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in the home of Barry and Loralee Uhlenhake, 3223 Wright Ave.

The Baha’is of Racine will explore the power of love over hate, and how its expression removes the “silos” of fear and distrust in our community. “The Economic Dimension: Another World is Possible” (Situations of Substance series), 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23. Sister Amata Millerwill share information about an alternative kind of economic system that is sprouting in this country and around the world. Cost to attend is $10 or $35 for the four-part series.

“Wisdom: Know Yourself and Your Spirit,” 9:30-11:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. This series delves into the mystery of our unique selves, the special tug of spirit and spirituality each of us feel, and the wonder of how we participate in the world’s wholeness through our particular gifts and life story. The session theme is “Basis of Decisions.” Cost to attend is $10.
