RACINE — The Racine Symphony Orchestra is looking to appoint new directors who have the skills, connections and energy needed to help steer the organization as it implements strategies and reshapes policy and practice to ensure the continued success of the RSO. Wanted are board members who reflect passion for the long-standing tradition of orchestral music, and RSO educational programs and initiatives.
The orchestra seeks three emerging leaders who are developing their skills, has connections and has the energy to help steer the organization. Also wanted are board members with significant experience in fund development; creation and implementation of policies; and skills relating to management and organizational development, especially in the non-profit sector. For both emerging and established leaders, skills in the areas of fundraising; fund development; budget and finance; social media management; and communications would be especially welcome.
Directors serve a three-year term with the option to serve a second renewable term and are expected to commit a minimum of six hours per month, in addition to monthly board meetings. Directors are expected to contribute to the organization’s budget and are expected to help identify potential funders, make introductions and help to nurture relationships with potential funders.
