RACINE — The Kiwanis Club of Greater Racine is reaching out to the greater Racine community for volunteers to help run the 64th annual Kiwanis Pancake Day at Festival Hall Saturday, May 5. Pancake Day is made possible by the efforts of more than 200 volunteer helpers who do everything from pour coffee to greet and seat guests.

Middle and high school students are encouraged to volunteer for this event. A student must be 12 years old or older and have a supervisor or guardian present if they are under the age of 14.

Through the years, service clubs such as Kiwanis have seen membership decline from as many as 100 members to less than 30 (in the case of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Racine). Pancake Day will no longer exist without the help of more volunteers.

To volunteer for Pancake Day, contact Mary Jane Andersen at 262-835-2373. For more information about the event, contact Mark Janiuk at 262-681-5421
