KENOSHA — The Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program has appointed Hope Council on Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Inc. as the funded agency that will operate the KRW Tri-County Tobacco Free Coalition in 2018.
KRW Tri-County Tobacco Free Coalition is a multi-jurisdictional coalition of Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties. The mission is to educate and promote tobacco control and prevention throughout the three communities. The goals for 2018 include the statewide initiative of conducting informational meetings with the region’s political candidates for state office, youth prevention initiative that includes completing retail assessments and compliance checks in partnership with Focus on Community Racine, and a local initiative of informing community property managers/owners about smoke-free multi-unit housing.
Hope Council on Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Inc. has appointed Yazlyn Perez, office coordinator, as the 2018 KRW Tri-County Tobacco Free Coalition coordinator. Through funding from Community Interventions and Wisconsin Wins (WI Wins), Perez will work closely with members of the Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth communities to help support the building of community capacity to achieve tobacco prevention and control policies.
