RACINE — The Autumn Silhouette gala will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Festival Hall, 5 Fifth St.
Proceeds from the event will raise funds to help Faith, Hope and Love's Duffels for Kids and BlastPacks program. Donations will be used to fulfill a request for more than 600 new duffel bags for foster children in the Racine and Kenosha areas.
The event will feature speaker and best-selling author Alonzo Kelly, who will discuss the effects of child homelessness and his experience growing up in the foster care system. Speakers will discuss the importance of having Duffels for Kids for children displaced from their home due to abuse or neglect, and who would otherwise have only trash bags in which to carry their few personal belongings.
Also scheduled to attend are Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave, Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling and Racine Police Chief Art Howell.
Tickets cost $50 each or $400 for a table of 10 and must be purchased by Oct. 25. For tickets, go to www.fhlforkids.org/autumn-silhouettes-gala/.
