FRANKLIN – Lois Mae Jacobsen, 91, passed away on July 7, 2018, at Elizabeth Residence in Franklin, WI.
Lois was born in Racine to the late Joseph and Emily (nee: Austin) Furst on September 21, 1926. She was united in marriage to Harry Jacobsen Sr. on March 13, 1982, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Racine.
Lois worked at AT&T Telephone Company for several years. She was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Lois and her husband, Harry, enjoyed going on driving vacations together. They traveled extensively throughout the United States. According to her family, Lois was very talented with knitting and crochet. She also enjoyed baking, working tirelessly to make cookies, candy, and fudge for Christmas Day with the family. Lois’ happiest times were when the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would visit.
Left to cherish Lois’ memory is her husband, Harry Jacobsen Sr.; her children: Charles (Suzanne) Acklam and Steve (Kathy) Acklam; her step-children: Harry (Wendy) Jacobsen Jr., Gloria Jacobsen, Roger (Maryann) Jacobsen, and Robin (Patty) Jacobsen; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Lois is preceded in death by her first husband, Don Acklam; her son, Mike Acklam; and her brother, Richard Furst.
A celebration of Lois’ life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Wilson Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. with Fr. Richard Craig officiating. Family and friends are invited to meet at the Wilson Funeral Home for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family asks memorials be made out to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church (4701 Erie St, Racine, WI 53402). Lois will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park.
