RACINE—On July 7th, 2018, our Mother, Kim Childs (Rymenams) passed away suddenly at age 59, due to complications related to a recent Cancer diagnosis. Although her battle was short, she fought with dignity and courage throughout. During better days, she lived to enjoy her grandchildren, celebrate holidays with her family, and spend as much time outside as possible. She also took great joy in sharing stories (some embarrassing) with her daughters-in-law. She was close with her parents and enjoyed many travels with her Mom, she also devoted much of her time to caring for them in their later years. She was previously employed as a “lunch lady” in multiple local schools.
Kim will be deeply missed by her sons, Rob (Trish) Childs and Jared (Amy) Harris; grandchildren, Hunter, Junior, Scarlett, and Mya; sisters, Toni Seman, Brenda Torchio, Karla (Jim) Shuemate, and Duanne Rymenams; aunt, Kay Romahn; former husband, Bob Childs. She is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Duane & Patricia (Romahn) Rymenams; sister, Terri Rymenams and fiancé Jeff Harris.
According to Kim’s wishes, her body will be used to advance cancer research and hopefully contribute to a future cure. A private family showing was held on Sunday July 8th. All family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life gathering that will take place on Saturday, July 14th from 2-6PM at The Root River Parkway Pavilion, 3630 Rapids Court. Memorials to the family or Cancer Research Institute are greatly appreciated.
A special thank you to the Ascension Radiation Oncology nursing staff for the care and compassion that you provided our Mom.
