RACINE—Jean Margaret Redford (nee Verbeten), age 87, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her residence.
Jean was born in Racine, September 14, 1930, daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (nee: Higgie) Verbeten. On July 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Dale Redford.
Jean was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Brighton, MI. She was a great mother. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her nine children: Michael Redford (Karen) of Waukesha WI, Sharon Rivest of Racine, Terry Kratt of Racine, Allen Redford (Georgette) of Racine, Kim Redford of Brighton, MI, Robin Wood (Bryce) of Bellevue, MI, Thomas (Christy) Redford of Stockbridge, MI, Donald (Tracy) of Fenton, MI, and Ann Brady (Lloyd); 27 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Consiglero of Racine; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brother, Donald (Rose); sisters: Doris (David) Lowe and Elaine Verbeten; son-in-law, Bruce Kratt; and grandchildren: David Redford, Matthew Rivest, Lenard Boczowski, Sheena Furrene, and Shane Redford.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will start with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Wilson Funeral Home. A Catholic Prayer Service will follow starting at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Brighton, MI.
