Seth Peterson Cottage

Free tours of the Seth Peterson Cottage, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, are part of the building's celebration June 4 in Mirror Lake State Park.

A quarter century ago, the Seth Peterson Cottage was saved.

The last Wisconsin building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, this tiny home on Mirror Lake was painstakingly and beautifully restored through the efforts of the Seth Peterson Cottage Conservancy. Today the cottage — located in Mirror Lake State Park at E9982 Fern Dell Road, Baraboo — is self-sufficient, supported by rental income and an army of volunteers.

A 25-year celebration of its rehabilitation takes place June 4, with free tours of the cottage from 1-4 p.m. A presentation at 2:30 p.m. will feature remarks by the project’s rehabilitation architect, John Eiffler, and Wright’s nephew Tim Wright. For more infomation, see www.sethpeterson.org.
