RACINE — Uptown is home to a new, full-service flower shop, Petals by Felicia.

Co-owner-operators Felicia Cooper and her husband, Leighton Cooper Sr., opened their store at 1337 Washington Ave. in mid-December.

They started with a home-based floral design business, then outgrew that. Felicia said she learned her craft during an apprenticeship with a Milwaukee flower shop.

Petals by Felicia specializes in custom sympathy designs, wedding and event decor, corporate accounts, prom flowers and live plant arrangements. Their service area is southeastern Wisconsin.

The store is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Petals by Felicia will hold a public open house from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday with refreshments, a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor John Dickert and local dignitaries and a drawing for a custom flower arrangement.

For more information call 262-583-4719 or visit www.petalsbyfelicia.com.

Note: The day for the open house was incorrect in the original story. It has been corrected.
