MOUNT PLEASANT — Work to extend and widen International Drive is scheduled to start late this month and last until late fall next year, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.
The DOT’s Interstate 94 north-south project team announced the approved construction contract on International Drive from Highway 11 to just south of Highway 20. The work to make International Drive a new concrete, four-lane thoroughfare is part of the development of roadways supporting the Foxconn Technology Group project site.
Waukesha -based Zignego Co. was the low bidder for the work with a bid of $8,964,539.53.
None of the 16 subcontractors are from Racine County, but 15 are Wisconsin-based.
