RACINE — The next Bonk! performance will be the first Mary Finley and Marcie Eanes Memorial Black History Month Read-In from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St.

Community members of different backgrounds will join together to celebrate the vibrant legacy of contributions to world literature by black authors.

The late Mary Finley and the late Marcie Eanes were prominent black women of Racine who were inspirations in the Racine community locally as well as the literary community nationally. Finley was an ambassador and literary agent and Eanes was a writer and supporter of the arts.

Registration to read at the event is already is full, however, spectators are welcome to the free event.
