Christensen, County Clerk RACINE COUNTY BOARD EvENINg SESSION September 28, 2021 The meeting of The Racine County Board of Supervisors was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with Chairman Roanhouse presiding. All Supervisors were present except for Supervisors Spencer, Kruse, Kaprelian, Maier and Pringle, who were excused. Supervisor Trottier led the opening prayer. All those who were present stood for the Pledge of the Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. There were no Public Comments. Supervisor Miller requested first and second reading for Resolution No. 2021-54. No objections were heard. RESOLUTION NO. 2021-54 RESOLUTION BY INDIvIDUAL SUPERvISORS EXPRESSINg SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY OF FORMER COUNTY BOARD SUPERvISOR LEO E. THOMAS To the Honorable Members of the Racine County Board of Supervisors: WHEREAS, Leo E. Thomas became a member of the Racine County Board of Supervisors in April 1982 and served until May 2002 representing the 27th and 26th Districts; and WHEREAS, during his tenure on the County Board, he served as Co-Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Health and Human Services Committee, and Secretary of the Public Works Committee and the Personnel and Community Services Committee. He also served on the Executive Committee and the Human Services Committee; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as County Board Supervisor, he gained the respect of his colleagues, department heads and constituents; and WHEREAS, Leo E. Thomas passed away on September 16, 2021. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLvED, that the Racine County Board of Supervisors stand and pause for a moment of silence in memory of Leo E. Thomas; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLvED that the County Clerk send a copy of this Resolution to the family of Leo E. Thomas along with the sincere sympathy of the Racine County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Klemko has been a very valuable member of the commission and has expressed an interest in serving another term. Supervisor Shakoor, II referred this resolution back to the Executive Committee. No objections were heard. Clerk Christensen gave an update on the redistricting process.
