Details for Help Wanted Harbor Master

(Part-time position)
City of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
The resort community of Lake Geneva is seeking a part-time Harbormaster. Under the
direction of the Department of Public Works, the Harbormaster will be responsible for the
• Manage city-owned piers and buoys
• Manage detailed Excel spreadsheets with buoy & slip information
• Respond to related lessee questions and complaints
• Manage municipal boat launch and oversee boat launch employees
• Manage / oversee other lake front related city employees
• Manage boat launch employees and lakefront employees
• Coordinate staffing security for all Riviera ballroom events
• Process Riviera ballroom rent payments, deposits and refunds
The position requires strong computer skills, strong record-keeping skills, and great attention
to detail.
This candidate will be required to professionally address the public and troubleshoot a variety
of issues, as needed.
The position will average approximately 25 hours/week at a rate of $18.27/hour. Applicants
will need to be very flexible, as total hours required will need to be adjusted during the course
of the year, according to season. Weekend hours will be mandatory during tourist season.
