Richard Bong State Recreation Area

The Richard Bong State Recreation Area in Brighton offers the following naturalist programs. A vehicle admission sticker is required for entrance to the park. Programs start promptly. Vehicle admission stickers are $8 daily or $28 annual for state residents; $11 daily or $38 annual for non-residents and $3 daily or $13 annual for resident seniors. Thursday, Dec. 21: Celebrate the Solstice, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a natural celebration at this busy time of year. Learn how others have celebrated the return of the sun, then hike and do some of your own celebrating. The entire event is held outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Meet at the Amphitheater.

Winter sports show in Milwaukee

The Milwaukee Ice Fishing & Winter Sports Show is back for its fourth year at the Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis, from Dec. 8-10. The three-day show will feature rows of exhibits of the latest products and services for die-hard ice fishermen and winter sports enthusiasts. Daily seminars will feature instruction on the latest ice fishing techniques.

Tickets for the show are $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and no admission for children five and younger.

Show hours are: Friday, Dec. 8 – noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 9 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

New Year’s Day Fun Shoot, Jan. 1, 2018. Registration opens at 8 a.m. There will be 30 3D animal targets in RIB’s heated clubhouse and heated pavilion. Registration fees are $10 for adults, $7 for juniors and cadets (11 and under) are free with a paid adult. Breakfast and lunch will be available.

Golden Arrow Bowhunters

Golden Arrow Bowhunters, 28621 E. River Bay Drive, Waterford, is offering the following programs:

KM Shoot, Dec. 9-10. Registration is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Entry fee is $15. Food and refreshments will be available. Open to the public.
