At the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control’s December meeting Friday at Stevens Point, the Board rescinded plans to implement a 35-second basketball shot clock.

After considerable discussion and statements from school administrators and coaches, the Board voted 7-3 to reverse its decision to introduce the shot clock beginning with the 2019-20 season.

The Board had voted 6-4 in June to implement the shot clock, but WIAA officials said in a statement that the Board had received “significant and valuable feedback” from the membership.
