The Park High School boys volleyball team advanced to the consolation crossover before losing to Madison East in the annual Racine Invitational on Saturday at Park.

Park, which tied for second in pool play with a 3-3 record, lost to Madison East 25-23.

Junior Kevin Leslie had 36 assists and senior Sahron Selmon added 14 kills to lead the Panthers.

Meanwhile, junior Adam May had 23 digs and sophomore Jared Sandkuhler had 10 kills for St. Catherine’s/Racine Lutheran in the tournament.

St. Catherine’s/Racine Lutheran went 2-2-2 in the tournament, losing to Waukesha West 25-23 in the semifinals of the consolation bracket.

Boys soccer

ST. CATHERINE’S: Manny Barajas had a goal and assist in the Angels’ 5-2 loss to Notre Dame of Peoria, Ill., in the Hinsdale (Ill.) Central Invitational on Saturday.

Barajas, a senior, scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute and then had an assist on Ernie Gomez’s goal in the 79th minute. Alberto Galban had six saves for the Angels (2-4).

Cross country

ST. CATHERINE’S: The Angels’ Anna Mae Dixon finished 14th overall in the girls portion of the Metro Conference Reunion Meet at Washington Park in Milwaukee.

Dixon had a time of 24:46. St. Catherine’s Emily Wentorf was 19th at 26:00. Jordan Koepke took first place at 20:47.

Santiago Espinoza was St. Catherine’s top finisher in the boys portion of the meet, finishing 21st overall at 20:07. Teammate Cole Dixon was 22nd at 20:17. Ben Scopp of Kenosha St. Joseph was first at 17:13.
