The Waterford High School boys basketball team had no answer for Marcus Domask Saturday.
The Waupun junior forward scored 36 points, 27 in the first half, to lead the Warriors to a 92-62 nonconference victory over the Wolverines at Waupun in the season opener for both teams.
The Wolverines had balanced scoring despite the loss, with four players scoring in double figures. Matt Borchardt had 15 points, Mike Schimelfenyg and Richle LePine had 12 points each, and Will Busch added 11. LePine made three 3-pointers in the game and Borchardt and Busch combined for 21 points in the second half.
Waterford had a good day at the free-throw line, going 16 for 21.
Domask, who has received a scholarship offer from UW-Green Bay and has several other Division I offers, according to wissports.com, virtually outscored Waterford in the first half as he led Waupun to a 50-28 halftime lead. Three other players scored in double figures for the Warriors.
