Tommy Bazarek of Carthage College was chosen as one of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin’s football Players of the Week.

Bazarek, a junior from Park Ridge, Ill., had a 57-yard punt return for a touchdown during the Red Men’s 55-20 victory over Carroll on Saturday.

Bazarek finished the game with four punt returns for 89 yards and his 22.25 yards per punt return was a season best. He added 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns, giving him 190 all-purpose yards against the Pioneers.

North Central quarterback Broc Rutter and Illinois Wesleyan linebacker Jordan Hassan were also recognized for the honor.

Rutter was 20 of 29 for 290 yards and two touchdown passes in a 43-24 win over Washington-St. Louis on Saturday, and Hassan helped lead the Titans to a 14-10 win against nationally-ranked Wheaton with 14 tackles.
