The Carthage College men’s soccer team scored three goals in a span of less than five minutes in the second half to break open a close game and beat Kalamazoo (Mich.) 4-1 in a nonconference match at Kenosha.

The match was tied 1-1 at halftime, then Alberto Eloyza got the scoring run started for the Red Men (2-0) with a goal at 69:28. Less than three minutes later, at 72:10, Johnny Rimkus scored and Kevin Reilly capped the run at 74:17. Reilly also had two assists in the match.

Carthage goalkeeper Brayan Arce Justiniano made two saves in goal and allowed Kalamazoo’s only goal with just five seconds left in the first half.

Women’s soccer

UW-PARKSIDE: Midfielder Jazmin Castanon scored in the 99th minute to give the Rangers a 1-0 overtime victory over Cardinal Stritch in a nonconference match at Wood Road Field in Somers.

Viktoria Silva and Madison Munroe had the assists on the play that gave Parkside (1-2-0) its first victory of the season.

Adrianna Bratel made three saves in goal to earn the shutout.
