The Carthage College women’s soccer team opened its season Friday with a strong performance.

The Lady Reds scored three goals in each half and outshot Northwestern (Minn.) 26-4 in a 6-1 nonconference victory at Art Keller Field on the Carthage campus in Kenosha.

Carthage led 3-0 at the half.

On her only two shots of the game, Kelsey Dejno scored two goals in a span of 1:03 in the second half for Carthage. Anna McHatton and Taylor Stenmark each had two assists.

Morgan Harris and Emily Furmanek combined for one save in goal for the Lady Reds.
