I am writing to discuss gerrymandering and why I think it’s wrong. For those who are unfamiliar with gerrymandering, that occurs when laws are passed to change voting districts to either favor Democratic or Republican legislators. I believe that this practice leads to more left and right wing politics to ensure favorable voting districts for reelection.

Wisconsin’s voting districts should not be decided by Democratic or Republican state legislators, but be set by a non-partisan agency in Wisconsin. If you support having a non-partisan agency determining voting districts, call or email your state senator about Senate Bill 13, and call or email your state representative about Assembly Bill 44. If you do not know who your state legislators are, visit http://legis.wisconsin.gov.
