The choice for mayor in this election is an easy one. While both candidates share similar views on social issues, their views on economic issues show the differences.
One candidate, Cory Mason, wants to continue on the same fiscal path as the current administration, which over the past eight years, has increased our debt service from 19 cents out of every tax dollar to 32 cents out of every tax dollar. The other candidate, Sandy Weidner, wants to put Racine back on the path to a sound financial base.
Racine is now at the tipping point for either economic stability or continued debt spending. The choice is ours and it really is an easy choice. In the election, Sandy Weidner is our only hope.
