More than 600 people lined up to see the Random House Golden Books Touring Bus at the Racine Public Library recently. It’s not hard to grasp the impact that Western Publishing’s Little Golden Books had on Racine, with so many families working there.
The bus had historical photos and was wonderfully decorated. There were activities for children and Little Golden Books for sale. 459 people filled out raffle tickets to win a Little Golden Books gift basket. 300 Little Golden Books tote bags were handed out in 37 minutes. Tim Joseph, the store manager at Barnes and Noble, said “I just wanted to reach out and congratulate you on what sounds like a great community event, and to thank you for working along with us! It was nice to see such a large turnout, and I know my District Manager was happy with the success of the sale as well.”
