I had just finished shoveling a 2 foot drift of global warming from my driveway the other day when I read about the City of Racine adopting the Paris Climate Accord. I think you can confidently rest assured that Racine will do its part in holding temperature increases to under 2 degrees Celsius.

With the regulation and requirements necessary to meet this goal, no business will want to locate in Racine. Straddling business with ridiculous regulations is a recipe for disaster.

What's worse is this is unproven science. The same news media that reports this as settled science, also gives us fake Russian collusion. The Paris Climate Accord was written so as to punish the U.S. and reward the true polluters. The Accord has nothing to do with global warming and everything to do with controlling our economy.

I'm sure the taxpayers of Racine will enjoy paying extra for city vehicles to be eco-friendly and buildings with a reduced carbon footprint. Maybe even a trolley like Milwaukee?

Maybe the City Council should sit down and worry about local issues — crime, schools, blight, unemployment, drugs, etc. and quit worrying about foolishness on the global level. Maybe a little actual business experience would benefit all of you and save the taxpayers from your silly endeavors.

You've already proven yourselves to be hostile to any business in the city, this is just the icing on the cake.
